Brittany Simone, DO, resident physician in the Radiation Oncology Department at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, has been selected to receive an American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)-Takeda Oncology Scholar-in-Training Award in recognition of the high-quality abstract she is presenting at the AACR Annual Meeting 2018.
AACR Scholar-in-Training Awards are highly competitive and recognize outstanding young investigators presenting meritorious proffered papers at the AACR Annual Meeting. Award funds are to defray travel, subsistence, and registration expenses to attend the meeting, which is being held April 14-18 in Chicago.
Simone will present her abstract, “Caloric restriction promotes antitumor immunity through polarization of intratumoral macrophages to M1 phenotype via downregulation of miR-21,” during poster session PO.TB06.01 on Sunday, April 15, from 1-5pm CT.
Scholar-in-Training awardees will also be recognized at a reception held in their honor during the annual meeting.
