Abington – Jefferson Health signsCongratulations to Abington – Jefferson Health, who was recently announced as the #3 top accruing Main Member site for Fiscal Year 2017 by NRG Oncology. The announcement was made at the NRG Oncology Semiannual Meeting, held July 13-15, 2017 in Philadelphia.

NRG Oncology seeks to improve the lives of patients with cancer by conducting practice-changing multi-institutional clinical and translational research with emphases on gender-specific malignancies including gynecologic, breast, and prostate cancers, as well as localized or locally advanced cancers of all types.

The organization brings together the unique and complementary research areas of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), and the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG). NRG Oncology builds upon our more than 150 years of cumulative research experience to conduct practice defining, multi-institutional clinical trials resulting in the improved survival and quality of life of patients with cancer.

NRG Oncology has been awarded a grant by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a member of the NCI National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN). Following are the NRG Oncology membership categories:

Abington – Jefferson Health is the organization that encompasses its flagship hospital, Abington Hospital in Abington, PA and Abington – Lansdale Hospital in Hatfield Township, PA, as well as a number of convenient outpatient settings for obtaining expert medical care in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Abington became part of the Jefferson Health system in 2015.
