Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging announced the creation of an SNMMI Fellowship recognizing distinguished service to SNMMI as well as exceptional achievement in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. The announcement was made during today’s Special Plenary Session at the society’s 2016 Annual Meeting, held June 11-15 in San Diego, Calif.

“SNMMI Fellowship is one of the most prestigious formal recognitions available to long-time SNMMI members,” said SNMMI President Hossein Jadvar, MD, PhD, MPH, MBA, FACNM. “It symbolizes distinguished service to SNMMI as well as exceptional achievement in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging.”

Selection of SNMMI Fellows will be based on documented excellence in volunteer service to the society and at least one of the additional three areas: excellence in scientific discovery and innovation; educational efforts in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging; or clinical practice of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. SNMMI Fellowship will be recognized with the designation FSNMMI.  Additional information and the application form will be available on the SNMMI website later this summer.

Congratulations to Dr. Thakur on this wonderful recognition.
